First off, I would like to say that I am so happy to be back at Pres Hall! I am just getting back into the swing of things after my absence, and I still have a ways to go before I catch up, but I will get there. Soon.

This week’s assignment, which was using Adobe Premiere Rush to create an audio/visual representation of my elevator pitch was a bit frustrating for me. I could not get the program to capture video on my phone or my computer. After watching an hour of tutorials trying to learn how to record I threw in towel. As I have a face for radio I was ok with this and detoured in a different direction. I also had problems using the graphics feature, and continually received error messages when I tried to insert text boxes into my project. However, I finally found one that worked, and was easy on the eyes. Here is a video which may be useful to whoever is reading this. It helped me to learn some helpful basics.

Ultimately I ended up creating a voice over with images, which was fun to do. I stretched each image to fit the pertinent segments of my voice over and I believe that it worked out well. I did have to do a few takes and I still stumbled a bit in my last take, but maybe it will make it sound more natural. I do not know if Premier Rush is easier to use on a PC, (does this generation still refer to them as PC’s?), but according to the guy in the above video it is basically the same. I still want to try the program out on a “PC” in the computer lab tomorrow, probably because, according to my beautiful wife, I am stubborn.

Admittedly, I loathed this program thirty minutes into using it, but after I got a good rhythm going on it, I ended up liking it. A lot. I have been thinking about different things I could use this program for and I believe I have the beginnings of some fairly decent ideas for some future Premier Rush projects.
